It was reported that Buford didn't think he could handle Martin's coaching style. Buford said, "I chose Oklahoma because they said I'd get a trophy just for participating. Also I like to be babied."
Another Buford quote... "I can't go to sleep at night unless my mommy tucks me in and kisses me goodnight. Koche Kruger said he would kiss me goodnight if he couldn't get my momma a job in the school cafeteria so she could be here to tuck me in. He's a nice man. He even said he'd play rubber ducky in the tub with me!"
