2016 4 star DB James Valdez 6'0' 190lbs of Lake Marion did not make it to USC last Saturday for the Tennessee game. His reasons for not making it to the game did not involve the Gamecocks.
“We had a tough loss on Friday night and I just wasn’t feeling it,” Valdez said. “Also it was really cold and I knew the wind was going to be crazy.”
Valdez does plan to attend one more USC game this season. “My coach told me that since I didn’t make it down there, he would take me to another one,” he said. “I really want to go to the Clemson game.”
USC remains a factor for Valdez but he is not calling him his favorite.
“They’re definitely an option,” Valdez said. “I talk to coach (Everett) Sands almost every day. I wouldn’t call them my top school but I don’t really have any favorites. Right now, I am just exploring my options. I lot of the other schools that have offered me have a lot to offer so we’ll see what happens.”
Valdez has visited USC twice this season. He named Florida, Florida State, NC State and Georgia as other schools he would like to visit.
His offers are from USC, Tennessee, NC State, SC State and Wake Forest. Valdez added that he does not plan to narrow his list any time soon.
“I should have a top three by next year,” Valdez said.
