Matthew Butler
DE Matthew Butler of Garner, NC has taken official visits to Duke and Penn State and will take an official visit to NC State November 5th. He’s also been to USC, Tennessee and NC State unofficial for games this season and he’s also considering Texas A&M.
He’s not sure about returning to USC this season for a game or for an official visit but he did talk with recruiter Lance Thompson Wednesday night and remains strongly interested in the Gamecocks.
“I’ve seen a lot of South Carolina and I’m confident on where I stand with them,” Butler said. “I’m still high on them. I just taking it step by step one step at a time. I have my conversations and my various ways of being recruited. Right now I’m just focused on high school football and then I’m going to give that focus on my recruiting whenever that needs to be done.”
Butler said there is no favorite. At one point he had planned to announce in the middle of October but he obviously put that off and does not have a set time for making his decision. He does not have an unofficial visit planned for this weekend because his brother has a Pop Warner championship game Saturday and he’s one of the coaches.
