Parker White hits a field goal to become the all-time Program leader in points scored, breaking Elliott Fry's record!

Gamecocks lead 18-0 with 27 seconds left in the 1st quarter. We out-gained the Tarheels 230-40 in that quarter.......

After the Tarheels tack on a field goal, Juju McDowell busts out on a 35-yd run to extend the Gamecock lead back to 15, 25-10 with 2:27 left to play in the half. It was the longest run of Juju's career....

 
Gamecocks lead 25-13 at the halftime break.

Gamecocks out-gained the Tar Heels 162-137 via the air, 150-85 on the ground, and 312-222 overall. Jaheim Bell leads the receivers with those 2 TD grabs for 135 yds. After him though there wasn't a lot of passing offense. Kevin Harris leads the Gamecocks with 63 yards on 11 carries. Juju McDowell has 2 attempts for 46 yds and a score. Dak Joyner is 4-4 for 89 yds and a touchdown pass to Bell....

 
Gamecocks come out for the start of the 2nd half and get the ball first - they drive down the field on 2 great passes from Joyner to Ahmarean Brown down to the 5-yd line, and Harris busts it into the EZ for the score! 32-13 Gamecocks for their biggest lead of the game (19 pts)......

 
Final score: USC 38, UNC 21.

Symmetry.  The start of Carolina's decline was the season opener of 2019, and now the exit from hard times comes at the end of 2021.  Both times against UNC, both times in Charlotte.  I'm looking forward to some more good times for the Gamecocks!

 
South Carolina Gamecocks win 38-21 over the North Carolina Tarheels. Finish the 2021 season 7-6 for our first winning season since 2018, and our first bowl win since 2018 as well (a New Years' Day Outback Bowl win).

Dakereon Joyner led the Gamecocks with a 9 for 9 performance for 160 yds, 1 TD, and 0 INT. He also rushed 10 times for 64 yards. Joyner had not thrown a single football pass in a game this season!!

Jaheim Bell led the receivers with 5 receptions for 159 yards and 2 TDs. Kevin Harris led the run game with 31 carries for 182 yards and a touchdown. Parker White claimed the program's all-time scoring record by going 3 for 3 on field goals, and 3 for 3 on extra points, for 12 total points....

The offense made a statement by punching the Tarheels in the mouth to open the game, and leading 18-0 after the first quarter, then kept the pressure on the Tarheels own offense by scoring in each of the final 3 quarters, while the Gamecocks defense - missing some key players due to covid or opting out of the game - harassed the UNC offense all game long. A balanced, well-executed performance from all three facets of the team.....

Great job by the team to finish with a winning record. A team that Vegas said would win 2 or 3 games.  It looks like we got a winner with Shane, hope it keeps getting better.
