Wisconsin hasn't won a bowl game since 2009. This will be the first time the two schools have faced each other in football.
Wisconsin is 11-13 in bowl games, but the Badgers are 3-1 at the Citrus Bowl Stadium and 2-0 in the Capital One Bowl, beating Auburn 24-10 in 2006 and Arkansas 17-14 in 2007. The Badgers haven’t won a bowl game since beating No.14 Miami in the Champs Sports Bowl in Orlando on Dec. 29, 2009, losing the Rose Bowl the past three seasons to TCU (21-19 in the 2011), Oregon (45-38; in the 2012) and Stanford (20-14,last season).
Their two running backs combined for over 2700 yards this year.

Wisconsin (9-3, 6-2 Big Ten) – which moved up two spots to No.19 in the AP poll and the BCS despite being idle - won at least nine games for the eighth times in 10 years, knocking off a pair of ranked teams in No.19 Northwestern and No.23 Minnesota in Andersen’s first year in the program.
They ended their season on a downer note, losing to unranked Penn State.
One time Gamecock recruit Christian Hackenberg had a career day as the true freshman for Penn State threw for 339 yards and four touchdowns, while completing 21 of his 30 pass attempts. Accounting for all of Penn State's scores, Hackenberg put the Nittany Lions ups 7-0 early with a 68-yard touchdown to Tight End Adam Breneman on the fifth play from scrimmage. Hackenberg also delivered the dagger on a 59-yard scoring toss to Eugene Lewis with 12:59 remaining in the game, which increased the lead to 31-14. Wisconsin made the score respectable in the fourth quarter, but never threatened.
The loss was comparable for Badger fans to USC's loss this season to Tennessee. Those respective losses knocked both teams out of BCS bowls and potentially much more.
Perusing the Wisconsin boards, Badger fans seem particularly unenthused about both the Cap One Bowl and facing USC.
This will be Coach Spurrier’s first career meeting vs. Wisconsin as a head coach. Wisconsin is 2-0 in previous visits to the Capital One Bowl with a 24-10 win over Auburn in 2006 and a 17-14 win over Arkansas in 2007.
Carolina current streak against non-conference opponents is up to 14 straight wins.
