AJ Davis
Another running back on the board for USC at this point is AJ Davis (6-0 180) of Lakeland, FL. His offers include USC, Clemson, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Ohio State Tennessee, UCF, Texas, Georgia, Missouri, Oklahoma, Louisville and Baylor. He’s been to Clemson before and he plans to get to USC in July. And he has legitimate interest in the Gamecocks.
“They are recruiting me hard,” Davis said. “I like the relationship me and the coaches have. We talk every other day. Coach Bentley likes that I run hard every play and I’d be a very good piece to fit in with South Carolina.”
Davis said he has around 35 offers and doesn’t plan to narrow his list until football season. And at this point none in particular stand out more than others. But he said if the Gamecocks keep up their interest he’s likely to do the same with them when it comes time to shorten his list.
“It depends on if they stay in touch and talk to me like they have been,” he said adding that Louisville, Oklahoma, West Virginia and Missouri are some of the others who are in regular contact. He attended a camp at Florida State earlier this month and also visited UCF.
Davis said he’d like to wait until Signing Day before making his decision.
