Former South Carolina QB Connor Shaw released by Cleveland Browns
June 30, 2016
It appears that former South Carolina quarterback Connor Shaw has been released by the Cleveland Browns.
“@Browns Thankful for the two years spent in CLE,” Shaw wrote in a tweet on Thursday. “Learned & grew a lot! Ready to see where God guides my family next!”
The Browns signed Shaw after he went undrafted in 2014. He played in just one game that season, starting the final game against the Baltimore Ravens. He completed 14-of-28 passes for 177 yards and an interception. Shaw did not see action last season after undergoing thumb surgery in the preseason.
It’s unclear if Shaw will draw any interest from other NFL teams. Earlier this month, Shaw expressed interest in potentially coaching at South Carolina in the future.
