but it's way over my head. During the last few games, the guys on our roster who have played substantial minutes has been seemingly random, but of course, there's no doubt Martin is following a plan. Brenton Williams scores one basket inthe first two SEC games in 12 minutes on the floor then he busts out with 16 pts on the road tonight. Big Chat hasn't played much lately and tonight he goes in there to battle the big 7'3'' kid and holds his own and scores some points. Leonard and Richardson make no sense at all. Against MSU, Richardson had 20 and Leonard had 0, then against Auburn, Leonard had 17 and Richardson had 0. Tonight they combine for 0 points in only 4 minutes. Carrera bounces back from a couple of subpar outings with his best game yet and even Slawson came to play tonight.
I know we have a lot of youth and inexperience but the inconsistency is on a whole new level. When Ellington gets back in his groove, those around him will benefit. Interesting stat tonight - Lakeem had as many assists (4) as Ellington, Smith, and Williams combined and he only had 1 turnover while the other guys combined for 9. Kacinas came out of the blocks strong and helped carry us through a few non-conference games but lately he's struggled a bit.
I have a feeling this season is going to provide us with too damn many games just like the first three - down to the wire needing clutch performances from a bunch of guys. We're not good enough to pull away from anyone and we always seem to let teams go on a run to get back in it if we start to build a lead.
Any win is a good one and I'll take every one we can get. It's going to be stressful all year, isn't it?
