I continue to be amazed at the tremendous difference from one game to the next in terms of who plays, when they play, how long the play, and who never removes the warm-ups.

Damien Leonard has a game-high of 38 minutes, but has probably 3-5 DNP - Coach's decisions - as well. Kacinas is actually still averaging 20+ minutes per game on the season but he's only played a total of 20 minutes in the last 4 games combined. Brian Richardson and Brent Williams have both scored at least 20 in one or more games but have also both had multiple games in which they didn't play. Big Chat rides a rollercoaster up and down from game to game. Eric Smith played nearly 35 minutes last night but has had games well under 20 minutes. Carrera had 13/13 last night but wasn't on the floor in the last minute.

I don't say any of this to be critical. I think Martin is doing a fabulous job teaching these guys the game of basketball as well as teaching lessons about hard work and dedication when needed. I sometimes wonder about the substitution patterns, especially why Lakeem Jackson is in the game late when the other team is fouling us, but then he makes a play like the offensive rebound in the last seconds last night and I shut up and defer to the coach.

He rewards those who work hard, no guarantee's for ANY player, I for one think it's refreshing, and you will see it pay dividends in a year or two.
