Future Georgia defensive backs continue recruitment of Jamyest Williams

It’s pretty safe to assume that Jamyest Williams has plenty of friends in his ear telling him to flip from South Carolina to Georgia.
Actually, it’s not really an assumption, two of them told DawgNation’s Brandon Adams and Jeff Sentell that they’re recruiting him to join them in Athens.
One of two blue-chip friends is 4-star safety Deangelo Gibbs, who enrolled at Georgia earlier this month.
“You have to make sure that (Williams) knows what he wants to do and everything that he wants to do is all for the University of Georgia,” Gibbs said. “He wants to do this and that. At the end of the day, it’s his decision.
“I’m getting in his ear, but I’m also telling him – I was in this position – I was telling him, do what’s best for you. You are going to college for those three to four years. Nobody else is. If this is not the school for you, then so be it.
“But if it is, I’m telling you, we have everything to offer for you here. This is one of the best opportunities. I’m telling you, we have an opportunity to be something special in the next couple of years. Trust me.”
Gibbs and Williams played their senior seasons together at Grayson High School in Loganville, Ga.
“Jamyest is so diverse. You can put him almost across the board, regardless of height, size, weight,” Gibbs said. “Jamyest is a pure athlete. I’ve been playing against and with Jamyest ever since we were little kids. Jamyest is a pure athlete, so he will fit perfect in any college system that he’ll choose.”
Another one of Williams’ buddies, William Poole III, is committed to sign with the Dawgs on Wednesday. They were both in Athens last weekend on official visit.
“I was basically telling him this is where you’ve grown up all your life. This is the place you want to be. Playing for Georgia, it will prepare you for life after football, things of that such,” Poole said. “His major, they definitely have it, it’s a great football team. With all the cornerbacks leaving, due to transfers or just leaving period, it’s definitely where to come in and play early.”
Poole, a 4-star from Hapeville Charter in Atlanta, said he’d be willing with the No. 1 jersey if Williams agrees to sign with Georgia.
“I’m that type of guy, whatever I need to do for the team, that’s what I’m going to do,” Poole said. “Making a gesture like that, if he was to choose Georgia, I’d let him wear No. 1. That’s just huge to me.”
Williams is scheduled to announce his final decision on signing day.
