Big Game, full house, on CBS, Lot's blue chip recruits on hand,. What more could you ask for? Easy a win Saturday!!  So lets talk Gamecocks vs Crimson Tide.

GAMECOCKS LINGERING QUESTIONS

Which team will show up for the Gamecock?  The ones that blew a 20-9 lead to a freshman quarterback in a humiliating loss to North Carolina, or the ones who set program records while demolishing Charleston Southern? The first two weeks of the season have produced wildly divergent results for USC and right now it’s difficult to say which one most exemplifies this team’s true nature. Granted, facing No. 2 Alabama might not be the best way to determine it, but a strong showing regardless of result would go a long way.

Can Ryan Hilinski rise to the occasion, or will his inexperience show? The spotlight wasn’t too big for him in his first career start, but that was against a middling FCS opponent. The degree of difficulty is being ratcheted up about as much as it possibly can for his second go-around. His ability to make quick reads and get the ball into the hands of South Carolina’s playmakers will be tested by one of the nation’s best defenses.

Can South Carolina recreate 2010? The last time Alabama visited Williams-Brice Stadium was also the last time coach Nick Saban lost to an SEC East team. That 35-21 upset remains one of the biggest moments in program history, and comparisons to it are inevitable as the Crimson Tide and Gamecocks prepare to face off again. Of course, no players remain from that game, and Saban and one of his assistants are the only coaches left, but fans remember, and they’ll be fired up at the thought of ruining ‘Bama’s season once more.

Although they are two completely different people with different lifestyles, I think Ryan is the wildcard that gives a chance to win just like Garcia did.

Plus, we played a lot better against CSU across the board than we have since Will came here.

I think we have a legit shot.

Going to take the D giving up less than 25 and the O making a lot of plays and using both QBs.

We can't let them control the LOS if we want to have a chance.  We need to be able to run the ball and get chunk plays with the run as well as consistent 3-4 yard runs.  I think Hilinski has to play well, but we have to make him not carry the O but just facilitate getting the ball out to playmakers.  The way we started Saturday is exactly how we should have started every game no matter the QB.  We need to get the ball in space and have some new wrinkles.  Going to be a tall order Saturday, just hope we make it competitive into the fourth and let the chips fall where they may.

We will have to score 38 points to beat Bama. They are going to pound the ball to begin with then try to hit us with some  big pass plays. They will try to take the wind out of the crowd and crush our spirit before the beginning of the 2nd quarter. So be ready for an attempt to take the game away very early.

I want to believe we can win this game, but I just don't know if we have what it takes, yet. With that being said, if we do win, I like my crow with hot sauce.

I don't have enough faith in either LOS for us so I don't expect a win but I do hope that we can keep it from being a blow out.  I hate to feel this way but I haven't seen anything to make me feel/think otherwise.  I will be hoping and praying though...…….

GO COCKS!!!!

I don't expect a win.....but I sure would like one. We have got to be a nightmare for Alabama to gameplan. They won't know what to expect...of course we don't either

That's exactly why we'll win.

Boom was dismissive in the PG presser of any idea that he has to spoon feed Hilinski.

We'll be okay on offense.  It's the defense I am worried about.

We are going to need a lot of points 40 or more. We need to get vertical space and complete some deep ones to give our backs some space....the defense has me nervous...AJ Turner available in the secondary should help...he is a gamer

OFFENSE - I really feel that Ryan will be okay. He will find open receivers. I just hope our RB's and Dak can get it done. If they can break tackles like last week, look out, Bama will be shocked. If they can't, the heat will really get poured on Ryan by multiple blitzes.

DEFENSE - It is time for those special corners and safeties to show their best ever. Bama has a tremendous receiving corp and a notable QB. If we can knock a couple down and find a way to pick a couple, that will be a huge part of our success. JT, Horn, Jamyest, and Israel all need to be at their best. I really think they can do this but it will be their toughest game ever.

I have more confidence in the O right now. I really hope the D can show out. 4 more selfies would be wonderful.

Don't forget the 3 for the first offensive play of the 3rd quarter.

As someone mentioned, I don't know that we have enough on the LOS to win this game.

Defense has been puzzling to me as well with BOOM being a defensive mind and the defense not really showing up.  Honestly it seems like our guys don't grasp the concept of leverage along the LOS and our DBs seemingly are lost in coverage and don't get their heads turned.

It would be beyond wonderful to win but I'll take a two TD loss as well...

CSU went for it on a fourth-and-eight on their own 40 and made a first down against us when the starters on defense were still in.

If you stop and think about it, Boom actually hasn't really lived up to his nickname here and I think that has been part of the problem.

Tanner has to let Boom be Boom and Frank be Frank.

I couldn't agree more with this. He has taking a way softer tone than he has at previous stops. The defense does not seem as good as Florida ,Texas or even the one year at Auburn. I know our secondary better be on their P's and Q's or their in for a really bad day.

The only thing on the field faster than Saban's loaded team is a thrown football. I think we're going to have to pass-pass-pass and hope we can win a boat race.

Accurate & quick & short passes may be the only weapon we have. Saban is not going to get out coached by Muschamp.

Urich looked good in the spring, is tall and is super fast.   Where the hell has he been?  Load up with some big receivers and make Bama play man and maybe someone gets free for some big gains.  Ryan needs a little time, just hope our line can give him some so that he isn't running for his life all day.  Get Bama backing up for passes and the running game might come to life too.  Here is to having all the planets align!
