Game week 7: Talking Florida (Discussion Thread)

I think this game comes down to our O vs their D.  Assuming no major turnovers or special teams scores, our O needs to score points to win this game.  I’m not sure we can do that with poor weather or injured Hilinski.  However, if we can score 30+ I think we win without a doubt.  If we score 21-30, it’s close and if we score 20 or less than we lose by 7-10.

We need our run game to take hold of this game which in turn will open up big play action opportunities to our WRs.  I think we can win Saturday but I’d take the points for us not the money line, same way I felt about the UGA game.

I think at this point in the season we have now found our identity. Its win the line of scrimmage and play smashmouth football. I am not expecting a pretty game. I am expecting a war. Grind it out. Create turnovers. Expect the unexpected and take the victory that is rightfully ours. These gators are coming to our house.

PROTECT OUR HOUSE

Saw Hilinski will start. I hope he is able to play the entire game but my guess is we will see Joyner on the field behind center.

We are also probably going to get a lot of rain over the weekend from an as yet unnamed tropical storm coming out the Gulf.

I hope Ryan plays well in the rain. Both D's will be successful against the run on a wet field. Hard to keep traction but that may apply both ways. If Ryan can tune in some receivers, we can blow the gators out because our receivers will be moving good and hopefully putting on some moves.
