GAMECOCK-GAMEDAY THREAD: South Carolina vs. Virginia ***Dec. 22, 2019 at 3:00pm.***

??? I agree.

Kotsar is turning out to be a better big than Chris Silva.
Not sure how you figure that. He is not a shooter like Silva was. He is good to have underneath to prevent some shots and he does get some rebounds. He also makes some great assist out there. But, he only had 1 block this game and only 4 points. Not quite up to Silva standard.

Aiken, read my post “Some thoughts on the young season”, way back on Nov. 28th.  What did I say?  I said POST-Houston, expect a different team, especially defensively.  I’m not trying to brag, but I’ve been seeing this stuff coming for a LONG time.  We’re young, and we still have some growing up to do, but we’re a LOT better than our record indicates.

this game is a small taste of what we can do.  Expect some SEC noise from the ‘Cocks this year, and barring injury to a starter, expect NCAA tourney this year.
Young season and Young Team. Kotsar is only Senior starting. Bolden is a RS Jr. and everyone else is FR and Soph. We are definitely growing and getting better. This win today will make other teams look a little bit harder but if they can keep playing like today, it will be a bunch of wins.

We still face #6, 12, and 21 in conference games but showed today we can play against champions. Really looking forward to this season for both MEN and women for a change.

Definitely the most complete game we've played this year.  We started out strong on defense and we forced turnovers against VA.  Our offense showed up and wasn't simply one dimensional.  We were able to score inside the paint as well as some timely threes.  We surrendered a lead on the road, in the second half, but answered every VA run, and manage to put it away with a comfortable lead.

If this team shows up for conference play, we can do some damage...tourney is still available.

Side note:  I really enjoy listening to games in which Jay Bilas provides the color.

The team has improved a lot since the Houston game.   The extra practice is helping.     We can play better than we did today.

I liked it being on ABC instead of cable so I could watch it on the TV with my powered HD antenna.

Lot's of nice vibrant colors in that arena, too.

Been battling my way through the crud that's being going around, so the game and win picked up my spirits considerably.

Hope you feel better for the holidays, Nerf.

I just realized something that is pretty neat, I guess. With the men's win over Virginia, now both our MBB and WBB programs have taken down the defending national champions in each of their sports. Not too many other programs can say that this season. In fact, I know no one else can.....
