Head coach Will Muschamp sent out the signal on Wednesday morning. The latest South Carolina recruiting acquisition 4 star 6' 4" 290lbs OL Mark Fox Jr.
Fox, a 4-star offensive tackle from Miami-Northwestern High School, jumped on board with the Gamecocks earlier in the morning. According to Rivals, he’s ranked as the No. 22 offensive tackle in the Class of 2019
The 6-foot-4, 290-pound prospect joins Jaylen Nichols as the second offensive lineman to commit to the Gamecocks’ 2019 class. The haul also includes 4-star defensive end Rodricus Fitten and 3-star linebacker Ahdarrious Gee. Nichols is classified as a 3-star tackle.
Fox, who was offered by South Carolina a few days ago, also has offers from Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Louisville and Miami, among others.
Here’s a look at what South Carolina offensive line coach Eric Wolford saw in Fox, who’s listed by the 247Sports composite as the No. 48 offensive tackle in the Class of 2019.
Fox could end up playing the same position at South Carolina that he plays for Northwestern, right tackle. When Fox arrives to Columbia next year, he’ll have an opportunity to compete for a starting job at right tackle, which is currently occupied by Zack Bailey, who will be a senior this fall.
