The 2020 South Carolina recruiting class added another commitment on Tuesday afternoon when 4 star offensive lineman Issiah Walker Jr. 6'4" 265lbs announced his commitment.
The Gamecocks now have three commitments in their 2020 recruiting class.
“I like the coaches and how they operated when I went to their camp my ninth grade year,” Walker said.
A sophomore at Norland High School in Miami, Fla., Walker was measured at 6-foot-4, 244 pounds during The Opening’s regional stop in February. According to his Hudl page, Walker weighs 260.
Florida, Kentucky and South Florida have also offered.
Walker joins 3-star running back Mecose Todd (Villa Rica, Ga.) and guard Tyshawn Wannamaker (Saint Matthews, S.C.) in South Carolina’s 2020 class.
The Gamecocks’ 2019 haul currently includes a pair of offensive lineman from the Miami area: 3-star tackle Mark Fox Jr. (Miami-Northwestern) and 3-star center Vincent Murphy (Fort Lauderdale-St. Thomas Aquinas).
At least 15 offensive linemen from the Class of 2020 list offers from South Carolina, including 5-star tackle Bryn Tucker (Knoxville, Tenn.), 4-star tackle Tate Ratledge (Rome, Ga.) and unranked tackle Avery Jernigan (Blackshear, Ga.).
It is unclear how many offensive linemen the Gamecocks plan to sign during the 2020 cycle. They’re projected to take as many as five in 2019.
