Gamecocks hosting more recruits this week

Palmetto State returns
On Saturday, Clemson hosted a handful of prospects from the state of Georgia, including offensive lineman LaMarius Benson, who committed to South Carolina on Sunday.
Darnell Jefferies, a defensive tackle who’s secured several offers over the last few weeks, was also there.
Jefferies will return to Clemson this week for a visit with his parents. On Friday, he’ll be back on campus at South Carolina, where he recently visited with several teammates from Newton High School.
An industry source indicated that his trip on Friday to South Carolina will be an overnight stay.
Benson goes to a different high school — he’s at Eastside and Jefferies attends Newton — but the two 2018 prospects both train at Team 3 Sports in Covington, Ga.
When asked if Benson would try to recruit Jefferies to South Carolina, he said: “It’s not my decision. That’s between him and his family. But if he wants to join the family, it would be good.”
According to the 247Sports composite, Jefferies is the No. 32-ranked defensive tackle in the Class of 2018.
The 247Sports Crystal Ball has two predictions for Georgia. Jefferies’ trip to Clemson this week will be his third in two weeks.
