Gamecocks land another big talented DT transfer Deandre Jules

South Carolina Wednesday night added a second defensive tackle to their 2024 recruiting class in Pitt transfer Deandre Jules (6-3 310). Jules made his decision while in Columbia for an official visit. The only other official visit he made after entering the Portal was to Florida.
Jules is a native of Germantown, MD who spent five seasons at Pitt. This past season Jules started six of the team’s 12 games. He had primarily been a reserve prior to that. For his career, Jules totaled 37 tackles with 11.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks.
Jules is the sixth commitment for the Gamecocks since last weekend, the fifth out of the Transfer Portal.

2023: Played in all 12 games, starting six at defensive tackle…compiled 24 tackles, 7.5 TFLs, two sacks and a forced fumble…twice notched a career-high four tackles (Louisville and Syracuse)…had a personal best two TFLs at Virginia Tech…had a seven-yard sack against North Carolina…had a nine-yard sack against Boston College…forced a fumble against Louisville.
2022: Played in 12 games as a reserve defensive tackle…totaled five tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, one sack and one blocked kick on the year…had a season-high two stops with 1.5 TFLs against UCLA in the Sun Bowl…had a seven-yard sack at Miami…blocked an extra point against Virginia Tech.
2021: Played in seven games as a reserve defensive tackle…totaled two tackles…logged stops against Tennessee and New Hampshire.
2020: Played in six games as a reserve defensive tackle…totaled six tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and a sack assist on the year…had his most productive game at Miami, collecting three tackles, 1.5 TFLs and a sack assist…had two stops against Austin Peay.
2019: Redshirted as a true freshman.
HIGH SCHOOL: The top defensive end prospect in Maryland according to Rivals and 247Sports…four-year varsity contributor at Northwest…collected 59 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one blocked kick as a senior…helped Northwest to a 9-3 record and the Maryland 4A regional finals…rated the No. 14 overall prospect in Maryland by Rivals, No. 16 by 247Sports and No. 19 by ESPN…played under Coach Mike Neubeiser…selected to play in the Big 33 Football Classic.
