4 star LB Roquan Smith 6'0' 203lbs of Montezuma, GA made an unofficial visit to USC Saturday for the Georgia game and now plans to take an official visit to Columbia later this season. Smith met with coaches Steve Spurrier and Lorenzo Ward and he has a lot of interest in the Gamecocks calling his visit to USC “tremendous.”
“They showed me that I am a priority,” Smith said. “Coach Ward told me they he loves play makers in his defense and that I could be that play maker. They like me at the Spur position and I’d like to play (at that position). Coach Spurrier just told me they would love to have me at Carolina.”
The scene at Williams-Brice Stadium impressed Smith.
“It was an incredible atmosphere,” he said. ‘I can’t wait to get back down there and check the place out again.”
Smith does not plan to begin narrowing his list until the season ends. He named Georgia, Ole Miss and Florida as other schools he plans to visit this season. As for other official visits, he did not name any.
He does not have any favorites saying, “I’m still pretty wide open.”
