Gamecocks offer another 2019 WR, former teammate of Keisean Nixon

Groulx gets the offer
After South Carolina wrapped up its pro day, the Gamecocks coaching staff turned its attention to 2019 wide receiver Nolan Groulx.
The 6-foot, 185-pound prospect, who recently transferred to Hough High School (Cornelius, N.C.) from Davidson (N.C.) Day, visited the Gamecocks on Tuesday. During his first trip to South Carolina, he added an offer to his list, which already included N.C. State, Wake Forest and West Virginia.
Running backs coach Bobby Bentley, Groulx’s area recruiter, invited him to Columbia for the day.
“It was a very well-planned out day,” Groulx said. “I think it went really well. They showed me a lot of love.”
Groulx’s visit started with a look at the academic side of things. First, he toured the school before stopping to meet with members of the academic support staff.
“Then, I went and talked with the (wide) receivers coach, coach (Bryan McClendon), for about 45 minutes. We had a long talk, got to know each other,” Groulx said. “Then, I went up to coach Muschamp’s office; that’s where they offered me, coach Muschamp did.”
The South Carolina coaches invited Groulx to return later this summer for camp so he could receive some hands-on work with McClendon.
“I liked it a lot,” Groulx said of his first visit to South Carolina.
“The facilities were obviously top notch, being SEC and everything. The weight room was big, as an SEC school would be. I thought the facilities were top notch.”
Earlier this month, he attended Clemson’s junior day. The Tigers coaches want to see him work at camp before dispensing an offer.
Up next is a trip to Penn State.
As a sophomore, Groulx caught 108 passes for 1,853 yards and 24 touchdowns. He also rushed for 132 yards and 7 scores.
South Carolina offers Nixon’s teammate
South Carolina signed one of the top junior college cornerbacks in the 2017 cycle. Keisean Nixon, who’s originally from Compton, Calif., will report to South Carolina this summer.
The Gamecocks coaches hope one of his former teammates from Arizona Western Community College joins him. On Tuesday, they offered Dominick Anderson, the top-ranked (247Sports) JUCO tight end in the Class of 2018.
Alabama, Arizona State, Auburn, Oregon and TCU are counted among the offers for Anderson, who’s listed at 6-foot-5, 245 pounds.
Nixon, when asked for a scouting report, said Anderson is “really talented.” Originally from San Diego, Calif., Anderson caught 14 passes for 218 yards and 2 touchdowns as a freshman.
More offers
South Carolina tendered two more offers on Tuesday, to 2018 running back Andrew Cunningham and 2018 athlete Alontae Taylor.
Cunningham, a 3-star recruit from Cambridge Christian School in Tampa, Fla., is a 6-foot, 215-pound prospect with offers that include Louisville, Kentucky and USF.
Taylor, a 4-star Tennessee commitment, is from Coffee County Central High School in Manchester, Tenn.
