More on the newest CB offer
Three-star cornerback Christopher Smith picked up a South Carolina offer on Saturday while he was on campus for the Missouri game.
Muschamp and Travaris Robinson had a sit-down with Smith before kickoff and told him of the offer.
“They let me know that they like the way I played and the style I played with,” Smith said. “They also let me know how I could fit into their scheme and what they like to run. They feel like I could be a great addition in the future.”

The 6-foot, 165-pound junior from Hapeville Charter in Atlanta is the No. 40-ranked cornerback in the Class of 2018. He’s also listed as the No. 30 overall prospect in the state of Georgia.
Auburn, Georgia, and Georgia Tech have also hosted him on their campuses this fall.
“The (South Carolina) visit was great,” Smith said. “I had a good time there and I hope to be back. I can also say the same about the environment.”
Before the season’s over, he’ll head to N.C. State and Vanderbilt.
The official visitor
Three-star linebacker commitment Eldridge Thompson was on campus last weekend for his official visit, which he said was a “good” experience.
Thompson, who’s originally from Memphis, Tenn., is currently enrolled at Coffeyville Community College in Kansas, the same school that produced South Carolina defensive backs JaMarcus King and Steven Montac.
Sidelined with a shoulder injury since the first game of the season, Thompson will have three years of eligibility when he arrives in Columbia for good in January.
“Everything was really the same,” he said of the message from the Gamecocks coaches. “Just saying how excited and ready (they are) for me to get there.”
