Gamecocks offer QB from Arizona

On Tuesday, 3-star quarterback Jacob Conover (Chandler, Ariz.) picked up three more offers: South Carolina, Texas and Colorado.
Conover is believed to be the second 2019 quarterback to receive an offer from the Gamecocks since the arrival of quarterbacks coach Dan Werner. On Saturday, 4-star Taisun Phommachanh (Avon, Conn.) posted word of his tender from South Carolina.
According to the 247Sports composite, Conover is ranked as the No. 14 pro-style quarterback in the Class of 2019. Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, BYU, Memphis and Ole Miss have also offered.
Former South Carolina offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Kurt Roper offered only a handful of 2019 quarterbacks, including 4-star Sam Howell (Monroe, N.C.) and 3-star Garrett Shrader (Charlotte, N.C.).
