Gamecocks sending three players to the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine. Defensive end Kingsley “JJ” Enagbare and running backs Kevin Harris and ZaQuandre White will participate in this year’s event, where former college football players undergo drills and mental tests in front of representatives from all 32 NFL teams. A total of 324 prospects were invited to the event held ahead of the league’s draft.

  • Enagbare, a 6-foot-4, 261-pound edge rusher, tallied 119 tackles, 22 tackles for loss and 13 sacks from 2018-21 at South Carolina. Pro Football Network ranks Enagbare the 34th overall prospect in this year’s draft with first-round potential.
  • Harris was the SEC’s leading rusher in 2020 but was inconsistent last season, accumulating 660 yards in 2021 compared to the 1,138 he totaled in 2020. The 5-foot-10, 220-pound tailback left the Gamecocks with his season-best effort in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl, rushing for 182 yards on 31 carries, his most of the season. Harris totaled 2,251 all-purpose yards with USC from 2019-21.
  • White the Gamecocks’ most productive running back in the regular season, opting out of the Gamecocks’ bowl game to prepare for the NFL Draft. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound rusher finished 2021 with 785 all-purpose yards, including 202 receiving, after moving to the running back position from outside linebacker in 2018. White played at South Carolina from 2020-21, starting his college football career at Florida State (2017-18) and Iowa Western Community College (2019).

Absent from the list was Walter Camp second-team All-American Jaylan Foster, a former walk-on defensive back who was tied for the most regular-season interceptions in the country this season with five. He led the Gamecocks with 90 tackles, 4.0 for loss, two sacks, two pass break-ups and two forced fumbles in 2021. The combine will take place March 1-7 in Indianapolis. This year’s NFL Draft will be held April 28-30 in Las Vegas.
