Four-star wide receiver Tristan Payton 6'0" 182lbs (Jacksonville, Fla./First Coast) de-committed from USC on Friday and will likely stay closer to home (the word right now is UCF).
South Carolina, which has two commits from the school in wide receiver Jerad Washington and linebacker Sherrod Pittman, could emerge as a factor, though there isn't much time left in the cycle.
Gamecocks wide receivers coach/recruiting coordinator/area recruiter Steve Spurrier Jr. plans to visit Payton on Monday and the two parties will go from there.
Payton is scheduled to officially visit UCF this weekend.
