It’s still a tight race between USC and Georgia for WR Josh Vann of Tucker, GA.  He has gone back and forth with each as his leader over the summer months.  Now, coming off a visit to USC last weekend, Vann said if he had to commit today, it would be to USC.  But of course, he doesn’t have to commit today

“I feel like I’m leaning, probably not that much, but I think I’m leaning to South Carolina,” Vann said.  “There’s more of a 50-50 but I feel like I’m leaning more that way right now.  I feel more at home down there.  That visit, it was amazing.  They got to top that even more.  It’s more of a deep feeling coming back from there.”

Vann continues to mull over his decision and has not set date for one.  It could come before his season in August or he might wait until a game or two into the season.

As for Saturday’s Spurs Up cookout at USC, Vann said it was less about football and more about bonding with the coaches and players.

“When I went down there most of the time I probably  worked out and took a tour,” he said.  “This time it was getting to know everybody, the coaches and the other recruits.  The message (from the coaches) was just, you need to be a Gamecock.  Come on now. But it was more of a bonding day.  We got to do activities more than we sat around and talk.”

Vann was joined on the visit by his parents and his brother.

“My mom kept on saying she felt like she was on vacation, so I guess that’s a good sign.”

Vann said the USC visit is his last one before he makes his commitment.  He recently visited Georgia and said the Bulldogs are working him as hard as USC is, contacting him daily.

“It wasn’t like that at first,” he said.  “It’s been every day.  They’re keeping in touch with me and I’m keeping in touch with them so everything’s cool.

Glad we are keeping in touch...
