GAMEDAY BASEBALL THREAD GAME 1: South Carolina vs Georgia **Friday at 7:00 p.m.**

Sac fly adds another run for Georgia, and reliever John Gilreath walks two then gives up a double to add another. Bulldogs lead Gamecocks 6-1

TOP 6 - This will be a big inning here as UGA sends the top of the order up. Shepherd hits a bouncer to short. Callil has to move a couple of steps to his left, and his throw to first is low. First chink in the armor for him defensively. Never made anything close to an error until then. E6. Then two on as King lines a single to center. Couple Gamecocks getting loose. Gilreath and Lloyd. Both runners score on a triple to left center by Schunk. John Gilreath comes in and walks Talley. No outs, runners on the corners. An 0-1 liner to center is deep enough to score the runner from third base. Gilreath just misses with a fastball away. I thought it was strike three, but he doesn't get the call there. Then throws a full count bouncer. Walk number two. Hanging breaking ball lined to right center for a double. That ends the day for Gilreath. Gage Hinson coming in. And comes in throwing a couple of strikes. But then the count goes to 2-2 as a fastball misses a little too high. Offspeed gets Jernigan swinging. Two outs for Maxwell. He hits a tapper back to the mound, and Hinson knocks it down and makes the play. Nice job there, but damage is done. And, TBH, it's gonna be really challenging to win this one. UGA leads 6-1

 
Gamecocks get a leadoff double in B6, but a double play ends the frame. Georgia lead remains 6-1

TOP 8 - Lehman with a five-pitch walk to Meadows to lead off the inning. On the second pitch to Cable, something happens to Lehman. He comes out with some sort of injury. I didn't notice anything, but we'll ask Kingston afterward. This staff can't suffer another injury. Dylan Harley coming in. He will get all the time he needs to warm up due to injury. He throws two balls, then two strikes. That 3-2 fastball was located down and away. Perfect pitch from him, and much-needed. Maybe he can get some feel good going. Well, maybe not. Three pitches, three balls to Sullivan. Strike, ball. Two on, two outs for Jernigan. Maybe so. A 93 mph fastball up in the zone gets him swinging to end the inning. UGA leads 6-1.

BOTTOM 8 - Gamecocks have Callil, then the top of the order against new LHP Justin Glover. Callil goes down swinging at a slider on his back foot. One down. Campbell turns around and hits from the opposite side of the plate, and fouls a 1-0 pitch back. He goes down swinging at he same pitch Callil did. Two down. Eyster goes down on strikes. More offspeed out of the zone. UGA leads 6-1.

 
Down to the last 3 hours now top of the 9th Georgia up to bat.

 
Tomorrow new day, if Gamecocks win tomorrow, will play Sunday for the series.
