Jaylin Simpson
DB Jaylin Simpson 6'1" 175lbs of St. Simons Island, GA made an unofficial visit to USC earlier in the year for a junior day. Simpson plays on offense and defense for his high school but the Gamecocks have talked with him strictly about playing in the secondary and they have his attention as he goes thru the recruiting process.
“I like South Carolina. I like Cocky Nation, I like all of it. I’ll be looking into them,” Simpson said. “I like the campus, the dorms, everything. They are definitely a real option for me. They tell me I’m very diverse and can play a lot of positions. They basically told me I should play more than one position, corner or safety, no offense. TRob, (Travaris Robinson) that’s my guy. He just told me what they do and how they run it and that I would be a good fit for it.”
Clemson also has offered Simpson and he has visited there but he said he doesn’t hear as much from the Tigers as he does USC.
He visited Auburn on Thursday with teammate WR Jashawn Sheffield, who also has USC and Clemson offers. He’s also been to Florida State and Georgia.
“I really don’t know where I want to go. My mind changes every day,” Simpson said. “I do have a few schools in mind but I don’t want to put them out anywhere right now.”
Last season Simpson had 150 total tackles with 2 interceptions, and on offense he had nearly 2000 total yards rushing and passing.
He will not sign until February.
