4 star Junior LB Tre Lamar (6-3 230) of Roswell, GA is one of the top prospects in his state for 2016 and has already drawn offers from Clemson and USC. He was at Clemson for the SC State game and he will visit USC this Saturday for the Georgia game.

“Getting to see “the most exciting 25 seconds in football” stood out to me,” Lamar said referring to the Tigers’ running down the hill. “And seeing how many fans they had even though they were only playing South Carolina State.” Lamar had visited Clemson twice before, once for a junior day and once for an unofficial visit.

“I like them a lot,” he said. “I like the school and the football team. “I have a good relationship with coach Venables right now. I like his coaching style and how hands on he is and how he’s always into the practice and excited about it.”

Lamar has 14 offers right now with some of the ones standing out to him being Clemson, USC, Alabama, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt and Tennessee.

Lamar has been talking with GA Mangus from USC. “I like them,” he said. “I’ve only been up there once so I haven’t really formed a solid opinion about them. I’m going up there Saturday and I’ll definitely will have a good feel for if it’s a good school for me or not. From the visit I had last time (earlier this summer) I do like it.”

Lamar also has visited Georgia, Wisconsin, Alabama, Vanderbilt and Georgia Tech. He was at the Clemson-Georgia game but feels he’s getting a stronger push from Georgia Tech between his in-state schools.

Lamar plans to get to as many games as he can this season and take a couple of official visits next season before making his decision.

His current top five is Clemson, Alabama, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Mississippi State in no order. His dad and his cousin will join him on the trip to USC.
