Georgia Tech transfer DE Kyle Kennard commits to Gamecocks
Dec. 15, 2023One of the better defensive end prospects out of the ACC in 2023 is headed to USC for 2024. Kyle Kennard (6-5 238) of Georgia Tech announced Friday morning he will join the Gamecocks next season after four seasons on The Flats. Kennard is the seventh commitment for Shane Beamer from the Transfer Portal.
Kennard played in 42 games with the Yellow Jackets. He totaled 115 tackles with 21.5 tackles for loss, 12.5 sacks and one interception. This past season was his best with 54 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and six sacks. Four of those sacks came in the Wake Forest game. TJ Sanders led the Gamecocks in sacks this season with 4.5.
Kennard gives the Gamecocks 24 newcomers for the 2024 recruiting class, and he’s the second for the defensive end positions.
