Hartsville native doing well in MLB

Lyles is the most successful baseball player from Hartsville since Bobo Newsom, whose 20-season major-league career stretched from 1929 to 1953 in which he won 211 games for nine teams and was a three-time all-star.

Jordan excelled in all three of the major sports at Hartsville. I saw him play football one night. The guy caught

a pass over the middle and simply left the defenders in his wake. He has some serious speed. He returned kickoffs and

punts for the foxes as well. Spurrier's staff and Tanner tried to get him to sign with the Gamecocks to play two sports,

but MLB won out with the $$$. Who could blame Jordan for his decision. Man I would have loved to see him play for the Gamecocks!

I would also have liked to see him in Columbia..
