Just thought I'd start a thread on current football head coaching vacancies:
  • Florida
  • Penn State
  • Oklahoma St
  • UCLA
  • Virginia Tech
  • Arkansas
  • Oregon St
  • UAB

Hot Seat Rumors:
  • FSU
  • LSU
  • UNC

This is shaping up to be a tough year to be looking for a head coach, in terms of lots of quality destinations.

It's crazy this year. Top tier coaches getting axed, leaving schools / boosters with huge, long term contract payouts, on top of throwing around even more cash to attract other coaches.

The overall CFB power 5 business model is out of whack: NIL, transfer Portal, crazy coaching contracts and firings. The entire things is built on a house of cards, propped up by TV contracts and boosters.

When will it all come crumbling down? I can't see this sustainable in the long term.

IMO I think that the only way this stops is that players sign multiyear deals as to not leave....the pressure on coaches is at a level never seen before...they not only have to recruit high schoolers they also have to recruit their own time internally as well as look at other schools players...I agree SA, it can't continue. Up in my parts of the world the big news was Tony Vitello leaving UTenn to coah the SF Giants in baseball...he commented that if he is going to have to coach paid players with demands then he wanted to be in a professional environment...at this point the coaches are becoming fodder! I wonder if CSB thinks his seat is getting warm? But who know b/c next year the roster could literally be 50% different

We all knew the Portal was going to cause problems. Then along came NIL and "Amateur" sports as we know it ended. Vitello seems to be pretty smart thinking. At least the pros are not "children" anymore. Today's college players really do not know how to handle money like is being thrown at them and don't respect adults (Coaches) like they should. I really feel sorry for coaches trying to teach the players getting all that NIL money how to conduct themselves. And sadly, lots of coaches are getting fired for all this mess.

From what I have watched this last 9 games; Coach Shula just seems to have an awful game plan. The 3 games we won were games we were expected to win big. We did look different this week, and I am sure it is because he is starting to feel a little heat, but he definitely played the last drive wrong. There was no reason to change what had worked when Bama tied it up. Why go back to all those runs when Sellers was doing good passing? You only had a couple minutes left. Get down the field and then waste a little time. I think CSB should move on from him. If he keeps him, his own seat should get really hot. I like CSB a lot and do not want to see him go, but I feel this team could have been much better had our coach made sure his OC played better.
