Hilton Head CB Christian Miller (5-10 170) recently was offered by Colorado State. He’s also been offered by South Florida and South Alabama. Clemson and USC are among the Power 5 programs to express interest and he’s expecting to hear more from them and others at that level after the dead period ends Thursday.
“So far they loved everything about me,” Miller said of the Tigers and Gamecocks. He added that at this point he’s getting more attention from the Gamecocks.
“I went up for a visit and they played Tennessee and I was just talking to the coaches. They were like they want to give me back on campus and that’s pretty much it. I think coach Muschamp runs a great program. I could definitely see myself in there. I’ve got one of my friends, Cam Smith (USC signee), he’s been telling me about South Carolina and how we should meet up there. It’s definitely a possibility and definitely an option.”
Miller said he’s been talking with Travaris Robinson from USC and from Clemson Mike Reed and Brent Venables. He visited Clemson for the Duke game and the interest is there from the two coaches.
“They said he really liked my film,” he said. “They had just got done watching it before I came up there. They think I’m a special player and they will keep their eye on me. Definitely their program is world class. They definitely take care of business. That’s what I like, too.”
Miller did not claim to grow up either a Clemson or USC fan but he has ties to both. His sister is a Clemson grad and his brother is a USC student.
But he does have favorites in USC, Clemson, North Carolina, Tennessee, Florida and Georgia Tech. Of that group, he likes the Tar Heels the most right now. They were showing him the most interest prior to the coaching change and the new staff has picked up on that. He’s not sure on a decision timeline thinking a decision could come either right before the season or in December.
Last season Miller said he was in on 55 tackles with 12 passes defended and 1 interception.
