How bare is the cupboard for Shane? Rating our units

Agree with Spork.

Also in most cases when there is a coaching change, there is an uptick in play, simply from the honeymoon period with a new coach. So Muschamp could have undercoached/underutilized talent sitting on the bench waiting to make an impact.

Also the transfer portal will be interesting.

Oh and Ernest Jones is going to the draft.
I had not read this. Is this confirmed or just your feeling.  Never mind just saw it.  He is a great player and I look forward to seeing how he does in the NFL.

until Beamer gets a chance to talk with the position coaches about who we want back - and until Beamer talks with the players to see if they want to come back - everything is a big unknown.
It is. But just like CSB is doing right now, you have to start somewhere, and adjust from there as news like EJ leaving comes in.

WRs are only as productive as the person throwing the ball. Our QB play sucked and that had an affect on them.

You will see us use the transfer portal like crazy, sprinkled with a few JUCOs. Coach Beamers biggest job will to be holding on what we have now in the locker room.

Coach Beamer recruited this area and a lot of the east coast everywhere he has coached so his contacts are deep.

He also has a couple of coaches recruiting for us now so we are not dead in the water. Let's all just hang tight here and see what happens in the next 3 weeks.

His OC and DC should be home runs so that will help us gain a few high profile recruits in Feburary.

Whoever the OC ends up being needs to have a play action pass based offense at least for the first few games.  Until we can get some respect in passing game and teams stop stacking the box.  Because we have a f-ing thoroughbred we need to ride to victory.

Too many unknowns.  How long will it take for Beamer to change the culture for the players that are here?  How many and who are going to leave because they just don't fit a new scheme or don't want to fit?  If he can bring some guys in from the portal and/or JC then the turnaround may not be that long.

Well, there is certainly a disconnect somewhere. If a school regularly brings in top 20 talent, they should not be winning 2 games a year. Was it lack of development, the fact that some players were there just as a stop to the NFL, were the ranking a bust or was it all of the above?

I think it's a bit of everything listed.
Some thoughts I picked up from some other posters that seemed to have insight:

Team culture is very important and WM didn't know how to cultivate it. It eventually disintegrates into apathy and selfishness. In hindsight, Will was never a Gamecock. He was just acting like it. If the HC is not "all in" it eventually trickles down to the rest of the players.

Also, on defense....possibly some DL were playing out of position for their skill set and some of the alignments were just wrong. Coaches have to find a way to get the most out of their best guys.

Everyone should know besides Shi, we lacked playmakers at WR. And it may have been even worse. Most teams usually have at least one deep threat and a "possession" WR like Alshon or Bryan Edwards.

More like never taking ourselves too seriously...always a good aspiration for myself.
Honestly, there are very few negative things on a message board to take serious. I figure its the hardest place to be a likeable person, because there's not much external context to what you say. If someone pulls it off here, they probably rock IRL. If someone fails, shrug and see if that changes next week.
