How do you feel about the baseball team?

I think we need at least two wins against GA and one against TN, and then probably a couple in the SEC tourney in order to host a regional. Include our mid-week game against Winthrop in there also -- really don't want to overlook them.

Baseball team looked really good last night. Scored in every inning. And the young pitchers did a good job. They gave up scattered runs but for the most part they kept Winthrop from scoring much. Matt Williams used some of his less experienced line up to save the better relievers for this weekend. I was really impressed with all the batters do so good last night.

We had enough fans at the game that it sounded like a home game for us.

That tells you Gamecock Nation is paying attention this year.

We're two series away from the SECT and the pitching staff is healthy as far as I know.

It seems we're in a good position to make a good run at the right time of the year going into the post-season.

I would love a sweep this weekend at home. We have proved we can beat the best, but we will have to give it our best next weekend to win any games. It would be a joy to win both series. Then we would know we are ready for the NCAA T.

I hope the players have a good outing in the SEC tourney. I hope they play well enough to make it in the NCAA. But I just have trouble watching them anymore.
I get so furious with the crazy coaching and the way they handle the pitchers. I am lost at the poor batting. They swing at stuff way out of the zone and then just stare at balls right down the middle. I remember my favorite coach always saying, don't let them close ones go, always swing. To him at least trying was better than just staring at it.

I won't be able to catch much of the game tomorrow because of being at work.

I coached Dixie Youth baseball for 7 years and I always told my players that I would never be upset with them striking out swinging at good pitches. Like you I'm baffled at many of our plate appearances.

And today they swing at it and get some great hits and 4 HR. I think Blitzkrieg went out there and instructed them some.

Early in the season I thought this team had a shot at Omaha. We'll see if that team shows up this week.

Don't know what to say. We need better pitchers. When your offense scores that many runs and you still lose, the errors cost a couple runs but the pitchers cost is way too many

Hard to even watch them in the NCAA. They are not good for my heart.
I'm not sure Gamecock Athletics as a whole is good for the heart, other than you gotta love it! Even when we win big we like to do it in grand fashion lol come out the losers bracket, come from behind, walk off, let a big lead slip away to win by 1.... Classic Gamecocks! We very seldom just blow the doors off and make it easy, we like to keep it interesting for the fans, that's why TV loves us lol

The constant infield errors from this team is a head scratcher. Guys shouldn’t be making those types of mistakes at this point in the season and their careers at the pace we see. The tourney wears down a pitching staff quickly, especially when you lose a game and have to play so many arms in such a short stretch of days. All this makes no lead safe for the Gamecocks.

I heard the media guys say it's an 18-month recovery for the injury Casas has to his hand.

You have to wonder if he was trying to overcompensate at the plate for the error he made against LSU at 1B.

That had to be a frustrating loss for the guys, but it seems like they're used to their ups and downs and are pretty resilient.

You could tell true FR Lee Ellis was not expecting to play for LeCroy at 3B. It was like watching your kid in a little league game. LOL

Disappointing loss to LSU, but I would not have wanted us to win off that umpire's call at the plate only to be spanked by the Vols in the champ game today. I think losing to LSU is more about how bad we are right now, but don't forget LSU is also the reigning National Champion.
