JT Ibe
Rice graduate transfer safety JT Ibe made his official visit to USC over the weekend.  Ibe, who started 17 games in his career at Rice, plans to have a decision by Wednesday.    Iowa State and Indiana are the others he’s considering. “It was a good visit.  Kind of chill,” Ibe said.  “Went to meetings, watched practice, watched a little more film, talked to the strength coaches.  Those were pretty much the things I wanted to do.  I really liked seeing practice so I could see what I could see in the defense and things like that.  T-Rob and Coach Muschamp are cool, good coaches, I feel like they’ll develop me.”

Ibe has one year left to give to a college team so the chance to come in and compete for a starting job is a crucial part of his thinking.  He said he saw with the Gamecocks a place for himself in the secondary.

“Just the opportunity. I don’t think they have to say anything. because when you can watch practice you know if you can play, you know if you’re going to fit.   Thankfully my coach last year used a lot of the same terminology that Muschamp uses. I don’t think it’s going to be too hard for me to pick up. I’ll have the whole spring and summer to pick up he defense. I think I’m a pretty quick learner.”

Ibe has taken officials to all three of the schools he’s considering and how he’ll take a couple of days to sort thru his information and make a final call./

“I want to watch some more film, watch a couple of more games and I’ll know,” he said adding that he does expect to continue talking with the coaches up until he makes his decision.  As of Sunday, Ibe said he was not leaning toward any of the schools.
