The sentiment that coaches wouldn’t want to be here is a false narrative, as most coaches will work for someone they believe in. I think the bigger question is does CSB want someone that will most likely make this a 2-3 year stop or does he want someone he can have here for 5-6 years. Personally I think I’m this would be subject to how he feels about the players that will be here for next year and the recruiting class. If he feels this is a 6 win team we should take the guy that we can build with over the next few years, if he feels like the right play caller could turn in 8-9 wins and make the job more attractive in 2-3 years then we should go that way. I personally feel that the Satterfield hire was a shot at building over a 5-6 year period, unfortunately the hire seems to have been a flop. That being said I want to see someone with real play calling experience, I don’t care if it’s power five or not. We need someone that understands matchups and how to exploit them if you have less talent in place. Spurrier was great at that and that’s what we need again.
