IF ...

The sentiment that coaches wouldn’t want to be here is a false narrative, as most coaches will work for someone they believe in.  I think the bigger question is does CSB want someone that will most likely make this a 2-3 year stop or does he want someone he can have here for 5-6 years.  Personally I think I’m this would be subject to how he feels about the players that will be here for next year and the recruiting class.  If he feels this is a 6 win team we should take the guy that we can build with over the next few years, if he feels like the right play caller could turn in 8-9 wins and make the job more attractive in 2-3 years then we should go that way.  I personally feel that the Satterfield hire was a shot at building over a 5-6 year period, unfortunately the hire seems to have been a flop.  That being said I want to see someone with real play calling experience, I don’t care if it’s power five or not.  We need someone that understands matchups and how to exploit them if you have less talent in place. Spurrier was great at that and that’s what we need again.
Great post.

Will be interesting now that Shane's former boss is leaving Oklahoma to take over the Southern Cal job. How many of his staff will be leaving to go there with him? Beamer has some connections with that staff....

Rumor's rumor's street talk say's Satt staying Beamer wants to have continuity with the staff other Tanner will not let Beamer let him go.. As the turd turns...

I heard earlier today that Garrett Riley may be a candidate. Whether that is just wishful fan talk, or something that actually has basis in fact, I don’t know.

David Cutcliffe , is an long shot rumor's are he could be done , looking to retire.

Here we go again , let the Coach make the choice Tanner should not be involved for an O.C. guy

Let Beamer make the choice what benefit is it  for Tanner to have input

Lincoln Riley's brother first choice , next Joe Brady if Carolina get's rid of him.
Garrett Riley is the name I'm seeing float around out there. It's still all speculation from "insiders" though.

I know Satt is on the recruiting trail as of yesterday. Wonder why?

Yes I am hearing an lot about Garrett Riley Josh H. is now be courted By Oklahoma sources say they are thinking about his buyout position.

I'm also seeing that G. Riley to TCU is a Done Deal™ and that our target might be Longo. I think some of these guys out there just throw stuff against the wall to see what sticks.

Agreed. Satt leaving seemed to be a Done Deal™ a few days ago and now seems to be a coin toss.

Yep. Riley to LSU was also a Done Deal™. Everyone always claims to have the inside scoop. Very few do.

Of course it is important to note that Satterfield is on the recruiting trail this week... with Beamer at his side according to one of the HMFICs on one of the membership sites. A lot could be read into that.

Yep, if true a lot more insightful than random "insiders" with "sources" taking a flyer on a Satt departure date.

Satt only got a two-year deal when all the other new assistant coaches got three-year deals.

That automatically put us behind the curve from a recruiting standpoint.

No HC/AD/BoT intentionally does something like that unless they feel the have no choice for one reason or another.

Some might say Satt maybe was helping his friend out in the short term with the understanding that he was going back to the NFL or somewhere else on his own after two years.

The moon is cheese; I don't know.

Here's what I do know:  we cannot have another season like this one from an offensive standpoint.

Our AD should not have a say in what assistants stay or go. If true we need a new AD
