1. OL needs to play like they did last night. Florida managed to run it pretty well, their starter Gilislee had 150 yards on 34 carries and a pair of TD's.
2. Our DL needs to play well, especially the DT's. If we can force LSU into passing situations, we can dominate them. They don't have a very good passing attack at all and Mettenberger is not very mobile
.
3. We can't afford to give up anything on special teams, our coverage has to be better on KR. Byrd probably won't be able to save a TD every time.
4. No turnovers. We've been good about that recently, none Saturday, 1 against Kentucky (it was the high snap on a 4th down so they were getting the ball anyway), and 1 against Missouri, the Miles fumble in the 3rd when we were up 21-3.
5. Offense needs to be able to move the ball. We don't need to score every time obviously with our defense, but if we can at least get a 1st down nearly every drive (a la Florida 2010 where I don't think we had one 3 and out) that will be big. Will give our defense rest and tire their defense out for the 4th quarter.
6. Get an early lead and hang onto it. Like posted above, getting the crowd out of it early in the 1st quarter will be big, Death Valley will be rockin for this game.
We are capable of winning this game and am cautiously optimistic. However, we have not played as well on the road as we have at home the past few years so we'll see what happens.
