DE Tre Lawson of North Augusta Sunday named USC as his favorite, the first time in Lawson’s recruiting process he’s named a clear cut leader. Previously he had USC and Florida State tied at the top. But the Gamecocks are working with a slim margin.
“It’s South Carolina right now,” Lawson said. “But I still love coach Fisher and Lawing and Florida State is still a big factor in my choice. I love South Carolina and hear from them about every day.”
Lawson wasn’t able to make it to USC Saturday because of his prom but he was in for the spring game last month, one of several visits he’s made with the Gamecocks. He’s also been to Florida State, Clemson and Tennessee. He’s not hearing from the Tigers at this time.
Some of Lawson’s other offers are Illinois, Ole Miss, Kentucky, Southern Cal, Georgia, Mississippi State and South Florida.
Lawson said he will visit Tennessee again in a couple of weeks and he also plans to visit Coastal Carolina.
