Brunson wanted to commit to the Gamecocks earlier in the year but was told they want to see him play early this season to determined if he’s fully recovered from off season hip surgery. Bruson goes to the doctor Tuesday to get final clearance for full speed and full contact practice.

Brunson, who currently is committed to Louisville, has not shut down his recruiting and is very much interested in what the Gamecocks and others have to say to him.

“They want me to come around a lot and they were happy that I came and they just want me to stick around to see everything,” Brunson said. “I just came to practice and left. I haven’t seen the new dorms.”

As for the hip, Brunson said all is good.

“It feels really good,” he said. “After I work out really hard it’s sore, but besides that I’m competing at a better level than I was last year. I’m practicing at full speed but I don’t have any contact.”

Brunson said he’s not yet set any official visits but he’s looking at Louisville and Purdue for two of them, and he’s also looking at Michigan for a possible visit.
