Monday night DB DJ Smith of Marietta, GA went on Fox Sports South to announce a commitment to USC. Smith picked the Gamecocks over Tennessee though he also brought a Clemson hat to the announcement.
In case you missed it, here’s the audio of the announcement made near the end of the New College Football Show: Next Class 2014. Smith was on the set with host Jill Hendreth and recruiting analysts Jamie Newberg and Chad Simmons. He was also joined by his family, teammates and some coaches.

Smith will take his official visit to USC this weekend. He will also take an official visit to Tennessee on the 24th. He said after his announcement that though he is visiting Tennessee, his commitment to the Gamecocks is a solid one.
