Local DT Alex Huntley checks out Gamecocks

On Saturday, 4-star defensive tackle Alex Huntley 6'4" 295lbs returned to the South Carolina campus for another visit with the Gamecocks football coaches. The 2020 prospect from Hammond School (Columbia, S.C.) was among the guests at South Carolina’s latest recruiting event.
“I have a good relationship right now with Coach [Will] Muschamp, but it’s more trying to get to know each other stuff, like that,” Huntley said.
It was the second South Carolina visit of the spring for Huntley, who also saw Ohio State earlier this year.
“Just the way they bounce around, really get to work, stuff like that. Just seeing the intensity,” Huntley said of what he likes about the Gamecocks’ spring practices.
Along with South Carolina, Arkansas, Georgia, Georgia State and Michigan have offered. For Huntley, his attention has been on his high school team at Hammond.
“Really, I’ve just been focused on weights this offseason, just trying to have a great season next year, so I’ve got to have a good offseason,” he said.
This summer, Huntley will hit the road to check out more schools, including Clemson.
