Should Shane Beamer And The South Carolina Gamecocks Be WORRIED About Clemson Hiring Garrett Riley?!

Locked On Gamecocks
On today's show, Andrew dives into why South Carolina Football fans shouldn't worry about the Clemson Tigers hiring Garrett Riley due to his lack of experience running his own offense, the personnel on the Tigers roster, and the Air Raid's history against SEC teams (minus Mike Leach).

He then gives his takeaways from Dawn Staley and the Gamecocks' win against the Kentucky Wildcats, discussing South Carolina's issue with help defense in the front court, why pushing the pace in transition should be done more often and coach Staley's message she sent regarding timeouts. Lastly, Andrew recaps the recent news surrounding former Gamecock kickers Elliot Fry and Parker White who were signed to NFL Futures Contracts this past week.

What are your thoughts as a Carolina fan on Clemson's hire of Garrett Riley? What did you make of the women's basketball team's performance on Thursday night? Garrett's a very sharp guy.

No one was going to get him this season until after the CFPs. We don't have the bench depth that Clemson does right now and couldn't let recruiting wait that long for a new OC. Rivalry aside, Clemson has the depth and CFP experience to wait until after the CFPs to try and get him.

For whatever the reason, he didn't follow Drinkwitz to Mizzou after the 2019 season. Maybe still a young coach who felt he wasn't ready for SEC regular season opponents yet. Nothing wrong with that if true.

Maybe he doesn't want the challenge of regular SEC opponents yet, while Dowell (with his more demanding NFL experience) is up for the challenge.

We got our guy. So did Clemson. Game on.

GO COCKS!!
