COLLEGE STATION — Texas A&M athletic director Eric Hyman sat down with Johnny Manziel's parents recently and discussed the star quarterback's new title.

“I told them he's no longer a freshman, and he's no longer a sophomore, junior or senior,” Hyman said Sunday. “He is a 'Heisman.'”

After the Kerrville Tivy-ex won the Heisman Trophy on Dec. 8, he became a target of the gossip website TMZ.com, which released pictures of Manziel partying at a Dallas bar. His parents were present, the site later reported, and no one saw the 20-year-old drink.

Envy is an ugly thing. Manziel won aTm a Heisman this year. At the same time, aTm is throwing close to one-half billion dollars into their just football stadium, with more money slated for other projects. Meanwhile, we had to struggle to build the $12MM Dodie and the $36MM Carolina Stadium. We can't even build a friggin bell tower because it costs too much!

aTm and Hyman are going to be laughing at the rest of the league within about 2 years. They have more money, and being in Texas more access to talent, than pretty much the rest of the conference combined.

The man was unquestionably the best AD we ever had. For about 7 years he was one of us and did more than the last 3 guys combined. Learn to respect former members of Gamecock Nation (the way the other big boys act) and learn to spell the man's name. If you don't, then it's obvious that you are either too stupid or or too childish to spell it correctly. Either way, your ignorance is showing.

Agreed.  McGee wasn't that bad either, but Hyman was the best...
