New USC basketball coach Frank Martin is on the board with his first commitment for the Gamecocks. 6-5 Thaddeus Hall of Brooklyn, NY called Martin Thursday night and made his pledge. “I’m excited to be his first commitment with everything starting fresh,” Hall said. “He’s building a program. He wants tough players and I’m a tough player. It feels good (to commit) and gets a lot of stress off my chest.” Hall blossomed this season into one of the top players in New York City and averaged 35 points per game. He also had offers from Virginia Tech, St. Johns, Maryland, West Virginia, Xavier and Texas Tech. He said USC is mailing the letter of intent and he will sign it as soon as it arrives. Hall will take the entrance exam for the first time May 5th and will make his official visit to USC the Friday after that.
