I have lost track of the eligibility stuff, but I know the NCAA has tightened up on second-transfer rule. An athlete can only transfer a second time due to injury or emotional trauma if I understand it right.

Meechie is very mature for his age, but only a SO and I think he will be like Sindarius was for us. Sparkman and Davis are true FR, but they have had their moments.

Any thoughts on this?

I wouldn't be surprised to see Benson or Minott transfer out.

I know Chico is a senior, but does he have the Covid year to use?

We're going to have a few open scholarships, but I don't think many high school seniors are still available. We're going to have to fill the rest through the transfer. Would prefer guys coming in with multiple years of eligibility, but it might be take what we can get mentality.

Every Gamecock on the roster but Brown has at least one more year of eligibility...

Meechie and Gray are a great start, Wright has shown his shot is legit and getting Dibba back will be huge...

The biggest question is GG, if not for NIL I have no doubt he is gone, none but he could legit be the #1 pick in a year if he learns to play inside 10' with folks his size and similar skills. He does not play with the will to win when it gets tight, he is tentative due to age, size, not wanting to get hurt...I think he is gone!

Several players showed flashes at times during the year but imo the only consistent player that understood the freedom in Coach Paris's offense was Brown until recently being honest I'm not sure I saw it. 🤔 In the last few games I've noticed they played much more fluid at times on offense and the stats show marked improvement in bucket to assist ratio that equals higher shooting % as they seemed to feed the hot hand, not play hero ball and pass with purpose... while also having more than one player on the floor willing to do the dirty work, crash the board, tie up possession, dive for the loose ball...
I have enjoyed this teams improvement on defense as Coach Paris has implemented the 1-3-1 and stretched it further from the basket to create pressure, you can see that a team with players coached for years by Paris will be fun to watch.
We signed 2 local kids that will fit in well with Coach Paris and this team, Boyles, top 150 recruit, is a 6'7 PF from AC Flora that transferred to prep school in Utah for his Sr season and Conyers is a 6'6 wing from Westwood in Blythewood. Both will fit in well with Davis and Sanford down the road. I like the offer to Brandon White, 6'10 C from CA, via Spencer, NC and a mystery offer is 6'5 Jakwon Moore from Releigh who is not ranked but I'm not sure why, his offer sheet is fire....

I think Benson and Minott transfer, maybe Carter... I would like to see Carter stay, he is a shooter.

After today, next year's roster currently looks like:
G - Ebrima Dibba - Sr
F - Josh Gray - Sr
F - Benjamin Bosmans-Verdonk - Sr
G - Ta’Lon Cooper - Sr
F - Stephen Clark -Sr
F - Myles Stute - Sr
F - BJ Mack - Sr
G - Meechie Johnson - Jr
G - Jacobi Wright - Jr
G/F - Zachary Davis - So
G - Eli Sparkman - So (walkon)
F - Arden Conyers - Fr
F - Collin Murray-Broyles - Fr
G - Morris Ugusuk - Fr

Assuming Sparkman stays on as a walk-on, we have 5 scholarships open. Anybody in the portal that Paris has offered and wants playing time should give us a serious look. Lots of minutes available for next year.

My thought is Frank recruited the wrong body types to be successful in the SEC.

Our guys are more beefy, while the more successful programs have better-balanced body types. A good balance between length and bulk. Essentially like GG's body type.

That's one thing I noticed after watching the NCAAT so far this year. We need to get more body types like GG.

I’m wondering who Lamont is going after in the portal. I’ve seen several announcements recently and all have long lists from majors, mid majors and the rest but haven’t seen us listed on any offers lists. What’s happening? I’m sure we are and hopefully they’re going after folks they have chances to get but you have to get your name out somehow.

That's a good question. I'd assume that Paris and/or assistants have made contact with players they think would be a good fit. I know BJ Mack from Wofford has us on his short list.

Ware that just entered from Oregon is an intriguing prospect. He was a top 10 recruit last year and apparently just never found a fit with the Ducks. I really doubt we're in consideration for him, but hopefully we will make contact just to see.

I would kick the tires on any transfers out of a P5 school and also the 2 from Temple. Really though, nobody in the portal makes me say "we have to go after that guy." I know we need to get some from the portal, they all just seem like a crapshoot right now.

Right now I would say anybody that can give us valuable minutes and stays out of trouble off the court. That's just my opinion...others might see it differently. We will start to find out in the next few weeks.

Says every basketball coach in America, "Bring me a few more bodies like GG... let the Frank talk go, he is gone, this is Coach Paris's team...

Coach Paris brought in Meechie and kept GG last year with Zachary who looked much improved by seasons end... I like Conyers and Broyles with Gray, a healthy Dibba and BBV this team will play defense!

Does anyone have any idea what happened to this Brandon White kid? This post seems to be the only mention of him online since last fall. He had like 20+ D1 offers and at one point was thought of as one of the top big men in his class; he's now basically plummeted out of the rankings. Seems like when Donda Academy shut down, he fell off the map.

Literally off the map since he moved to Cali and attended the Kanye West cult...
