*** MBB SOUTH CAROLINA (17-11, 9-6) @ ALABAMA (15-13, 7-8) Game Thread ***

Our guard play is much worse than that of Alabama.   That's one of the big differences in this game.     When we lose this game, and we will, that will end our hopes for the NCAA.   At this point, I'm not at all sure we will even be invited to the NIT.   I don't think we beat Miss St. TUesday night.   Not sure about the game at Vandy.   We simply don't defend, rebound and shot FT well enough to be any good.

 
we have played some awful defense lately and this game is no exception.  the only question is what sucks more, our zone or man to man?  gonna need them to make some 3's and for them to choke if were gonna pull this out

 
OUr guards are pretty bad, as Couisnard just showed.   Bama's guards are much better than ours.    Having no senior guards is really hurting us.

 
Its over.    Another game we could have won if we had done a few more things right.   But this team isn't able to do those things.    This team is just not good enough to overcome being so badly outscored  on FT.   Same story all season.   It will be the same in every other game they play this season.   The opponent will win the game on FT.

What bothers me most is that our coaches see what is happening, but seem unable to correct it.  Duh!

we choked flat out.  jermaine loose with the ball when we're down 2 and we dont get a shot up.  sure the flagrant was bs but we got past that and then keyshawn like the analyst said looked like he wasnt sure what he wanted to do and flipped up an awful attempt at the rim when he wasnt really contested.  what killed us though was giving up a gazillion offensive rebounds which seemingly everytime led to a bucket or a trip for them to the line.  golden opportunity absolutely blown.  90 points to a team without their leading scorer. 

 
Def Rebounds, Fts on both ends, and Bama being far more poised was the diff.   Plays were there to be made but weren’t.  Turnovers and fouls down the stretch kept us just out of it.   Bama was the better team.  

 
We were 32/70 vs. 24/55 from the field and 17/26 vs. 33/47 from the line.

No way a team wins with those stats.

 
I'm tired of the same damn thing every game.   We can't defend without fouling.   We can't make FT.     And the worst thing is, its going to happe again on Tuesday!     Forget the NCAAT, it won't happen.

 
Alabama wins 90-86.......we shoot 17-26 for the game from the Ft line. Alabama shoots 18-28 from the FT line for just the 2nd half alone. Kinda tells the story right there. Alabama shot 47 free throws. 47 free throws! Wow....

Alabama shot 57% from the field, and took 28 free throws in the 2nd half. I thought our team was defense-centric.....

  This team seems incapable of correcting its problems.  The coaching staff knows what is wrong, and I'm sure they are trying to fix it, but this group of players just will not respond.    If I had to name the biggest problem, it would be our inability to defend without fouling.   That is why our opponents get and make so many FT.   Number two would be our inability to make our own FT.    Just those two problems by themselves are causing us to lose games.     I wish there was something that could be done to fix it, but I don't know what it is.

We lost by 4.   We were outscored 33-17 on FT.

I was scared about this game when we had 6 to play. Only way in now is to win sec tourney
