In his presser yesterday Frank hinted that the refs are calling more fouls on USC than they should.   I agree with that.   If that happens again tonight, we will probably lose.   If it does not, then we have a chance to win.

It almost seems that the refs don't want to officiate a game where a team that plays tough defense anymore and they just call fouls with the slightest bit of contact.

We got so many ticky tack fouls called against us in the Bama game. But I go to adjustments. If that is the way the game is going to be called, cant keep doing the same thing and expect the refs to change.

Ill tune in to watch Kotsar who has really come into his own from years past.

Hoping for a win.  Agree the refs call a lot, miss a lot and get a lot wrong, but this is nothing new.  Complaining about it isn't new either and there have been winnable games in spite of it

I got that feeling, too, and I agree with him to a certain point.

Over the years the refs have avoided having the game put on them if we can't hit our shots, either from the line or the field.

It's been like that sometimes, but it's a moot point we can't hit our FTs, either.

On it's own, it's good for us if we can find a way to beat a team like MSST anytime, anywhere.

I think there will be a good crowd tonight and we can get the win if our shots fall.

I think free throws are a sour point for our team. WHen we get called for fouling a lot and put the other team at the line, who can make their fair share of FTs, we know we struggle in that area so its becomes a lopsided stat in favor of the other team. Free points basically.

Hopeful for a win, but not too confident in that. Miss St is just a bad matchup for us. The last 4-5 games have really shown how much we miss Minaya on defense. Seems like when he went down, our defense just has gotten progressively worse. I know we foul a lot, but I want to see us eliminate the stupid and ticky-tack fouls that have been plaguing us. Don't bump a guy 50 ft from the basket, don't knock down a 3 point shooter when trying to close out, etc.

I agree that Miss. St. is a bad matchup for us.  However, since we've already taken them on once, I believe we'll know what TO do and what NOT to do this time around to avoid the unnecessary fouling.  This one should be a close fought battle, and the 'Cocks should emerge victorious.  Look for big nights for Frink, McCreary, Lawson and Cousinard.  Oh, yeah... watch out for a Keyshawn party!  I think he might provide some REALLY impressive highlights tonight!!!

I hope you're right.

bryant too often makes a good play then predetermines what hes going to do no matter what the defense is doing.  good offensive board then immediately tries to eurostep into a completely packed paint and a set defender.  swing the ball

Once again we're playing the ole' tried and true foul 'em defense. We'll have 20+ personal fouls again, and just like the last game Miss. State is making a living at the FT line. 35-27 Gamecocks lead, but we once had a huge lead.....

As soon as I turn it on they go on a run.  This miss st run is all on me guys.  I'll go back to the baseball game.

yes hannibal has two fouls, put him back in the game.   moss is giving us nothing on either end and the lead has gone from 15 to 6 with him in the game.  frank is going to let this lead completely evaporate because hes too scared of either pg picking up 3 fouls.
