South Carolina's second summer session began on Monday, and with the final student-athletes reporting to campus, each of the Gamecocks' basketball teams was able to finalize and release its roster on Tuesday.
Freshmen Reggie Theus Jr. and Duane Notice were in class on Monday and officially added to the roster, Theus coming from California after his high school didn't finish in time for him to enroll for Summer I and Notice coming from Canada after playing international basketball in June and early July. The two join coach Frank Martin's class of seven freshmen and eight newcomers, and could join the rest of the first-year players at the summer-league S.C. Pro Am when the games resume on Thursday.
The women's team welcomed local product Alaina Coates, a McDonald's All-American from Dutch Fork High School, and she joined the team's other scholarship newcomer, junior-college transfer Olivia Gaines, who was already on campus for Summer I. Coach Dawn Staley also announced that two walk-ons have enrolled and joined the team - guard India Farmer from North Myrtle Beach High School and a transfer from Charlotte, junior guard LeAnna Morrison. Morrison is originally from Moncks Corner and Berkeley High School.
Each team is working to finalize its schedule. The men's team is still waiting on two contracts to be signed and returned before it can announce, and the women's team is also one to two games away from finalizing its slate.
