Gamecocks missed on a major target Thursday afternoon when WR Keylen Adams of Virginia Beach announced a commitment to Virginia Tech. Adams did not make an official visit to South Carolina, though he made unofficial visits in May and early June. He did take an official visit to Virginia Tech in late June. That’s when the Hokies began to turn sentiment in their direction. Adams said this week that Virginia Tech coach Brent Pry did a really good job of selling family to him in Blacksburg. The Gamecocks have one committed receiver for the 2024 class in Mazeo Bennett. Next on their radar for the position is Jonathan Paylor of Burlington, NC. He’s set to announce on June 28th with NC State the other school under consideration
Friday RB Braylen Russell of Benton, AR will reveal his choice of South Carolina, Tennessee, or Arkansas. Saturday cornerback Ashton Hampton of Tallahassee will make his choice known from his final list of Clemson, Florida State, Arkansas, LSU, Florida, and Miami.
