South Carolina passed out some additional offers on Tuesday, starting with 4-star safety C.J. Smith, who was also offered by Florida.
“It’s an amazing feeling,” Smith told GatorBait’s Luke Stampini. “It’s great.”
Smith, the No. 18-ranked safety in the Class of 2018, is a 6-foot-3, 190-pound prospect out of Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach, Fla.
“UF is leading as of now,” Smith said.
South Carolina also offered 3-star recruit Alim McNeill, a 6-foot-3, 270-pound jumbo athlete who’s played defensive line, linebacker, tight end and running back for Sanderson High School in Raleigh, N.C.
McNeill profiles as a defensive player who will play with his hand on the ground. However, according to the 247Sports composite, he’s the No. 40-ranked inside linebacker in the country.
North Carolina, Michigan, TCU and Rutgers also offered on Tuesday.
Malik Langham and Savion Jackson posted about their offers Tuesday night.
Langham, a 2018 defensive end from Lee High School in Huntsville, Ala., has offers from Florida, Georgia, Louisville and Ole Miss.
For Jackson, a 2019 defensive end from Clayton (N.C.) High School, South Carolina is offer No. 1.
South Carolina in the mix
Three-star wide receiver Jatavious Harris, the No. 104-ranked prospect at the position in 2018, told Phil Kornblut that South Carolina has a place in his lead group.
“They are definitely going to be in my top 3,” Harris said. “They are a young team and they are building up. They have a young quarterback and young receiver. I talk with Jake Bentley on Twitter and he wants me to come on a visit.”
Harris, who’s listed at 6-foot-3, 185 pounds, also lists offers from Florida and Miami.
