According to reliable sources, new South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp will name Auburn secondary coach Travaris Robinson as the Gamecocks defensive coordinator.

Robinson, who is generally regarded as one of the top recruiters in the country, coached at Florida under Muschamp from 2011-14 before following him to Auburn this year.

The 34-year old recruited both Vernon Hargreaves and Jalen Tabor, a pair of elite cornerbacks, to the Gators during his time there. The Miami native also is one of the more well-respected recruiters in talent-rich south Florida.

Good decision on hiring Robinson, I totally support it!!!!!!!!!!

One of the most successful coaches in the history of South Carolina high school football is coming home.

Auburn offensive analyst Bobby Bentley, who built Byrnes High into a juggernaut, is expected to be named as an offensive assistant coach (likely running backs) at South Carolina under new head coach Will Muschamp.

Known as an offensive innovator, Bentley went 119-54 in two stints as the head coach at Byrnes and won four consecutive state championships from 2002-05. He coached multiple Division I prospects during his time there, including former South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore and wide receiver Nick Jones.

Bentley has spent a total of 22 years coaching in the Palmetto State on the high school level. He was the head coach at Presbyterian (S.C.) College, his alma mater, from 2007-08.
